I agree with all of these, and would further suggest that they need not apply to just designers. Any business of any size could apply all of these to a certain degree and have great success.

Unfortunately, sometimes balls get dropped, even by those who are usually very much in tune with their clients. Case and point, filmmaker Kevin Smith. My story on how he missed a great opportunity:

This 10 things are gold. Most business owners are SO stress out with managment things and forget the most important part of the business :) THE CLIENT. Withour clients THERE IS NO BUSINESS.

This helped a lot, and it made me feel great to know that I was going the right path. One tip I never even thought of doing was tip 8, so I’ll most definitely start doing that. Thank you for these advices!

One thing I do when I’ve completed the work and deliver it, I give the clients a “thank you for doing business with me” card. I’ve just started freelancing, so the thing is, do I give them a card every time or is the first time enough?
