Nice article, however I supposed it is a traffic game, without a huge swarm of traffic any advertising will be just for show. But for a simple method, I think people are still rooting for adsense, but oh boy, I always almost hear someone say that they will be making millions with putting up adsense alone. Mistake. But overall, I like what you write! Good work

Internet users are getting more and more fed up with ads — largely because Flash ads have been so misused — now even newbies know how to install adblockers these days. It’s up to us as designers to make sure that every aspect of our sites reflect our high standards … even the ads we allow on our pages.

Eventually, though, I think internet ads are doomed and we’re going to have to come up with alternative ways of generating income. Years of abuse by the larger ad networks like Doubleclick have made users wary and cynical of accepting any ads whatsoever. Rather than passively sitting back and letting the ad networks call the shots, we’re going to have to get more proactive in reaching our users and showing them why our content is worth supporting.

(Btw, you spelled “Technorati Media” wrong; you spelled it “Tehcnorati”.)

It’s a good article indeed.

BuySellAds is my favourite, for one because it’s so well-designed compared to other networks (yes, I’m that type of man who the design of a thing is as important as the thing itself for) and for the other it really works. And they’re expanding/growing.

On in-line ads: Burn them in fire. I hate it when I read a blog post and if I scroll down and my mouse accidentally hovers such a double-underlined link, I get some stupid pop-up loading some totally irrelevant dating site.

I don’t think that adbrite are a very good advertiser to go with. I have been using them for a couple of months and I have to say that I am not really happy with them. I have delivered tens of thousands of ad impressions and yet to receive a single check…

Great tips!

I think there are a lot of people who want to blog just to make money, I don’t think it’s possible for those people because that’s all they tend to focus on and will no doubt cut corners.

I’d say that if someone wants to integrate ads into their blog, to choose a network like “BuySellAds” rather than using Google Adsense as that just causes to much clutter and will put people off.

Another excellent post guys. Personally, I prefer Google AdSense. I’ve tried other ad networks and affiliate marketing across a range of diverse websites, but I find AdSense is the most reliable, relevant, and consistent. Cheers.

Wonderful capture of the overall online advertising industry for bloggers.

I would love to see more and more responsible bloggers, who set their main purpose into content quality and building an authority in their niche before looking to monetize their blog.

The launch period is not ideal for placing ads, while the maturity will only give you a big & worthy income stream.
