British Tea Cup

A simply gorgeous example of an illustrated icon. I love the effective use of colour and the excellent use of shading. The background colour helps to highlight the detail on the cup itself.

John Doe

A wonderfully bright business card design for a graphic designer. The bold colours make a strong statement and lodge themselves in your memory. I'm particularly fascinated by the eccentric display created for these cards.

A great portfolio site for a freelance designer that takes the simple grid layout and gives it a twist. I like the use of colours, the green works well against a black background.

Sub Five Five

A solid logo concept for a clothing company. I really like the typography and sense of perspective given the lettering. The colours are excellent, a great selection for clothing.

Falcon

A minimal and beautifully coherent logo that reworks a letter concept. I really like the use of colour and curvature to create the 'F'. It's memorable and elegant, a wonderfully effective logo.

Andrew Lebowitz

A brilliant portfolio site for a print and motion graphics designer. I really like the introductory quip and laid back illustrative style. His personal logo also makes a great impact.

Lokalu

A interesting and intriguing interface for an iPhone app. I like the use of colour and intuitive design. The illustrations are great and really help to enhance the user experience.

S8

A beautifully symmetrical logo concept for Super 8 Motel. The way the letter 'S' and number '8' make their impression is amazing! The choice of colours here is interesting, the green especially. It's very dark and perhaps swallows the logo a little.

City of Melbourne

An absolutely stunning rebranding project for the city of Melbourne. I love the way the logo represents the dynamism and innovation of the city itself. The attention to detail is astounding, as is the universal nature of this rebranding masterpiece.

OmniGraffle

Omnigraffle is a carefully thought out App for creating a quick diagram or process chart on your iPad. The menu bar is really effective at giving you all your options in one single place, leaving the rest of the space for your colourful diagrams!

Intrepid Olive

This site has a nice textured background and a few beautiful illustrations that really make the site feel custom and unique. I particularly like the mountain illustration at the bottom of the page. It is not shown in its entirety above so be sure and stop by the site and scroll down to see it.

AKA Acid

This awesome site uses a heavy dose of beautiful 3D modeling to create immersive and fantastical scenes on every page. I love the treatment of typography throughout the site and the modeling is really excellent.

Commotion

This site features awesomely unique illustrations that have a sort of fantastical feel to them. The photography used in conjunction with the illustrations is perfect as well and the color scheme ties it all together nicely.

Quote Robot

Quote robot helps designers and freelancers quickly create attractive and professional quotes. I really like this site design. The robot character is excellent. Other nice touches include the rounded corners, bright colors, and inset boxes near the bottom of the page.
