AppStorm is a great network of software blogs, and their new homepage is bright, bold, and a great jumping off point to the rest of the network. Icons work well to quickly show a visual representation of each different site.

This site features a ton of information on a single page, but the info has been organized in a thoughtful and effective manner to avoid a cluttered look. I particularly like the little interactive slider module on the right side of the page.

A nice typography-centric design with a very simple and effective layout. I like the treatment of the thumbnails and how they are used to bring color into the site.

This site could use some work on the details but the overall look is colorful and attractive. I like the tabbed layout with the animated hover effects and image slider. I might suggest having another go at the typography and icons though.

Alexander's portfolio takes on a steel and purple hue, featuring a scrolling portfolio slideshow that appears to "hover" over the rest of the page. I also particularly like the contact page, which includes a postcard mockup, a rate card designed in the style of a till receipt, and a timeline showing how most design projects are worked through.
