This site has a giant, animated purple octopus hanging upside down from the top of the screen. Enough said. The colors and design elements are actually really attractive, I love the messy circle effect used in the graphics below the header.

Heath Waller

This site is a really awesome piece of design that you really must stop by and scroll through. You will find awesome typography, retro illustrations and a lot more. The design progresses through different stages and ends on a really random but attractive note.

Pebble Design

This site has an absolutely beautiful design with perfect colors, textures and graphics. The content in the header automatically slides up in a smooth transition and is an excellent display of all the services offered by the company.

Traxor Designs

Usually we feature the header of a site but I found the lower content to be much more interesting here. I love the arrangement of the typography and the old style illustrations on the textured background. It definitely gives the site a book feel that I would like to see accomplished in the header.

Volusion

This friendly looking site features a rich primary color palette and a very web 2.0 feel. The sketches over the photograph make the space more inviting and lighthearted and the use of icons really helps break up the content into manageable chucnks.

Creative Payne

This site features a beautiful classic art theme interestingly mixed with a dollar bill motif. The illustrations, colors, texture and typography are all simply excellent. Be sure to stop by the site to see it in all its glory.

Weaverant

This site is dominated by a large image slider containing extremely simple but attractive graphics. If you scroll to the bottom you will see the features listed in yet another slider with large great looking icons.

Agile Style

An interesting take on the grid-based portfolio. I like the hover effects and the scattered client quotes. Those really help to provide comfort for potential clients who might be wary about hiring a designer they are not familiar with.

Who Is Leon

This site uses an awesome vintage photograph theme with birds and clouds. The clouds provide an animated background which stays fixed when you scroll as the foreground content glides over it. A nice effect!

Word Refuge

Word Refuge offers copywriting and SEO services. Their site is done in a historical revolutionary war era style and is absolutely beautiful. I love the illustrations, texture and typography. A great example of how to really push a theme idea to the limit.

Veerle

This beautiful page is the new Veerle blog redesign. I cannot say enough about this redesign. The colors, textures, illustrations, typography, all come together to make this truly stellar example of professional web design. Great job Veerle!

Kathryn Thurman

Though this site contains some serious layout issues beneath the fold, I really liked the illustration style in the header. The textures and colors are mixed well to create a nostalgic feeling when you look at the page.

Mocapoke

The huge eyedropper is an original touch that really makes this design. Other great attributes include the bright green textured background and the funny little Twitter bird.

Wolf CMS

The website for Wolf CMS, a freely downloadable content management system. I love the contrasting light and dark earthy colors, subtle single pixel strokes and nice background gradient.
