A Feed Apart is a twitter feed for all things related to the Event Apart event in Boston. I love the classy design of the page. The insets and shadows give a lot of three dimensional depthe to the design and the color scheme is spot on.

BarleyPop is a beer review blog for the sophisticated drinker. The header of this site is simply fantastic and really makes the blog seem high quality regardless of what content lies below.

A beautiful site featuring hints of both realism and cartoony illustration. I love the colorful hanging lanterns with their shadows being cast upon the text, the starry sky, and the tag strung from the top.

Though this site contains some serious layout issues beneath the fold, I really liked the illustration style in the header. The textures and colors are mixed well to create a nostalgic feeling when you look at the page.

I love the oversized graphics and typography on this page. Also, the ragged vertical navigation area is really unique and grabs your attention quickly. Visit the page and check out the subtle light bulb animation on the top left of the site.

Plan my site is a New Jersey based web design firm. The busy sketches on the dark background are a nice touch as are the giant 3D arrows. The latter of these really grabs your attention as soon as the page loads and makes for a nice focal point.

The online portfolio of designer James Childers. This site features an strongly textured background and muted content and a perfect color scheme. All of this lends to the faded look that the designer is going for. As you hover over the images, their opacity slowly transitions to 100%.

This page features a noisy textured background with a dramatic vignette that is ideally suited to draw your attention toward the big photographs in the center. The typography on the page is quite nice and worth noting as well.
