This site reminds me of the modern are trends of the 1990s. However, it is done in a tasteful way that does not seem outdated but instead is quite attractive. I like the dark colors and tilted shapes throughout.

This site is an experiment in various CSS techniques. It uses custom typography with live, selectable text that has been rotated and placed on rounded corner transparent backgrounds. Lots of CSS3 at work here!

This strange site uses a horizontal format and a ton of silhouette artwork. It is a unique idea pulled off in a unique way. Definitely worth stopping by to have a look!

Kim Weiland
We do not see many painter portfolios so I wanted to feature this one. There is some really nice work on display and the site is fairly well designed. I particularly like the Apple-like 3D display of the art pieces near the bottom.

Weasylife
A beautiful dark theme that makes great use of color and transparency to create different levels. I like the hint of a bokeh background and the rounded corners on the image gallery.

This site uses bold colors and simple graphics with a high level of eye-catching contrast. When you reload the page the color of the site changes along with the shirts the guys are wearing. I love the integration of the live map into the bottom of the page, an awesome touch!

Kleeve
Kleeve sells custom t-shirts with unique illustrations. The product is displayed well on the homepage with high quality photography with a homegrown feel. The scribbled treatment at the top of the page is nice and reinforces the art element found in the shirts.

This site has a minimalist feel with lots of typography and a dramatic black background. The layout with the photo is nice and the large headline question effectively draws you in.

Our Dollar Wedding
A novel idea for raising money for a wedding, Ryan and Sofia have created a site asking people to donate a dollar. The typography and illustrations are quite attractive and the layout of the header is really unique. They are trying to hit the lofty goal of $15,000 so be to stop by and give a buck!

A refreshingly original designer portfolio with lots of personalization. Obviously, the large letterpress effect is the hero of the design and really grabs your attention with contrast.

This site contains lots of beautiful graphics, colors, textures and typography. The designer really nailed trendy feminine design at its best. The layered scrapbook feeling works wonderfully here without venturing into cheesy.

AW Digital
A fantastic portfolio that utilizes a dark theme and has a lot of solid design work on display. There are a lot of interesting hover effects throughout the site. When you hover over objects, they take on a digitized effect that is quite nice.

Icon Moon
A great looking page that serves as the portfolio for an icon designer. I like the cloud theme, the smooth slider and how the moon in the logo changes to a house on hover. Lots of great design work here.

Alexandra Palace
This site uses an interesting layered photo effect that is both busy and attractive. The colors have been selectively applied, most of the site is black and white with a few bright colors applied in the three supporting photos near the bottom.

I loved this site instantly because it did not look like anything that I have seen before. The design is quite original and attractive and makes great use of color, texture and lighting effects.
