A great site for a designer that adequately showcases his knack for illustration. I like the simple and clean layout and the personal touches. The restrained use of colour helps to highlight certain aspects of the design.

La Case Cu Chef
This site has a ton of detail work that is really nice. There are lots of subtle effects in textures, strokes, shadows and points of color that really finish off the design nicely.

Assisted Serendipity
This clever site uses FourSquare to tell you if the male/female ratio is in your favor at a given location. The undoubtedly feminine site uses pink gradients and curvy fonts to clearly target the fairer gender. I love the little map graphic with a single 3D building.
