Web Effectual
You expect design portfolios to be good and this is no exception. The bold use of text and colour makes for a friendly and welcoming site that urges you to read on! I\'m not a huge fan of the background colour but the beautiful typefaces used throughout more than make up for it.

A simple design for a homemade cake company that features mouth-watering photography! The typeface is great and the stripped back design allows your attention to be drawn to the beautiful treats on display.

Casa Laura
A beautiful site for a bed and breakfast. The use of a three photograph slideshow works well as a focal point while the remainder of the site exudes class and style. I particularly like the nice touches of detail and typeface used.

Tim Palmer
Good use of orange against a neutral background here. The layout of the site makes it easy to navigate while the tape player adds interest. I like the box that slides through various tracks that were produced and/or mixed by Tim Palmer.

An unfussy and classy cinema site. The sparing use of orange is great and really makes a statement. I particularly like the little details and good use of space.

I love the artistic focal point of this site. The minimalism of the links and other aspects allow your attention to be drawn to the action! The logo is simple but works brilliantly!

Billy\'s Downtown Diner
A brilliant restaurant site with an active header that brings the street to life. The way the menu bar and logo use perspective to jump out at you is great! I also particularly like the use of colour set against a desaturated background.

A unrelentingly fascinating site! As you move about the page the colourful background artefacts ebb and flow beautifully. I love the use of the whole colour spectrum contrasted against the white background and the design of the logo.

Minky
The first thing that hits you when this site appears is the header, it\'s fantastic! The kooky custom typeface and the wood effect works really well and instantly intrigues the visitor. I also particularly like the border between the header and body of the site although the company\'s purpose could be made clearer...

A bright and endearing site for a team of App developers. The consistent cartoon style is great and really draws you in! The overall design is fantastic. Everything is readable and well spaced and the site leads you through the design process perfectly.

The Font Game is an App that is perfect for passionate designers and illustrators and as such needs to have a stunning interface. Fortunately it lives up to expectation; utilising space and icons brilliantly, keeping it simple, and focusing on the fonts!

A brilliant site for a graphic and web design studio. The slideshow of portfolio designs acts as a great focal point. The logo is well sized and works well against within the overall layout.

Matteo Larghi
An extremely stylish portfolio site. It exemplifies great use of space and a neutral palette. Of particular note is the use of a large portrait as the focal point, something which I find really works!

An attractive magazine style site that draws together interesting things from across the web. The central logo is extremely effective at grabbing your attention and I love the fruit theme. I also particularly like the use of large thumbnail links and how attractive they make the site.

Acrobits
A clean and bright corporate site for a mobile solutions company. The use of space is great and naturally brings your eyes to the important information. I like the simple but effective logo and the subtle use of fading to add interest to the site.

Sander Wapstra
A relatively simple site that uses its typefaces and layout to draw you in. The designers initial in the to left is great but could be larger while there is a certain lack of colour. I do really like the custom designed Twitter icon however.

1st Stop Claims Company
While this design doesn\'t push the boundaries and sticks with a fairly standard formula it\'s worth noting the high quality of photograph used. The body illustration on the right is an interesting touch.

Brokedesign
An outstanding design portfolio site. Immediately draws your attention to the dramatic design in the centre and leads you to enquire further. The use of polaroids as thumbnails is great and I also like the contrast of the bright primary colours with the black and white interface of the site.

AppAdvice provides you with all the latest information regarding the App Store and does so using an excellently built interface. The custom icons are great and the use of coloured App icons really brings the App to life.
