James Oconnell
The personal portfolio of James O\'Connell features a screen-wide slideshow that makes a great impact. As a designer it\'s vital to showcase your work and design philosophy to any prospective clients and this is achieved here using a gallery of James\' recent work. I like the subtlety of the dark grey text on the light grey background. It\'s not something that immediately makes sense, but that works perfectly to allow the colourful designs to grab your attention.

A good and intriguing site for a web design agency. I particularly like the colourful doodles and friendly typeface! The spacing of everything does bother me slightly but it\\\'s made up for by the textured background and strokes of colour.

Taking a different approach to iBooks, and although forgoing the digital bookcase idea, Kindle for the iPad still manages to make reading look appealing! A tablet reading App lives or dies by its interface, but fortunately Kindle has an effortlessly intuitive and gorgeous one!

An excellent portfolio site that immediately draws you in! The use of a gallery as the central focus works and brings colour and life to the site. An extremely classy iPad App for keeping up to date with the latest financial news. The use of orange on black is striking and looks gorgeous! I particularly like the organisation of information and intuitive layout.

Interesting logo that effectively uses colour on a black background. It would be slightly more powerful if it were more central and focussed but the vibrancy certainly makes an impact. I like the fascinating design detail of the exploding design.

A straightforward but classy design for a business card. I like the clear typeface and recognisable setting of the letter S. Having the key details on both the back and front helps to make the card instantly useable.

An ingenious App that connects growers to people with land to share! It looks great and is effortlessly intuitive to use. I love the earthy feel of the App and its excellent use of custom icons!

Ice Drink
A brilliant logo for a drinks company! The blue and white colour palette works really well and I love the ice dropping into a drink design on the back! The attention to detail is good. Nice touches, such as bubbles in the water and variation on a single logo, all help to make a business card look professional.

I Am T-Pain
The I Am T-Pain app is a voice recorder which uses the popular auto tuner effect from T-Pain. Although it may not be as slick as some Apps, it does make good use of curtains, lighting, and a grungy texture. I like the undeniably analog feel of the sliver switch on the tuning screen!
