An awesome site for a design agency that features a huge slideshow of previous projects. The slideshow is very effective at immersing the casual visitor to the site, while the simple yet brilliant concept of the three circles works well to get the identity of the company across. Some of the images are particularly striking!

Who's Guest is a good example of a portfolio for a graphic designer. The highlighting effect that comes into play as you scroll over each design is very effective at holding your attention. I like the faded photographic background but find the overall alignment of the site doesn't quite work for me.

The fascinating personal site of an online entrepreneur! The overall design, of pages on a wood effect background, works well to grab and hold your attention. The use of icons is great and complements the relatively intuitive layout of the site.

A clean and professional site for a design and development company. The use of a gallery to showcase previous projects always works well and this is no exception! The little details really make this design, the boxed text in the gallery and the subtle integration of the twitter logo!

An interesting site for a design studio based in Strasbourg that uses some great illustration to draw you in! The spacing is good as is the overall layout. I like the clean design and simple use of colour, it doesn\'t bombard your senses!

A slightly clumsy yet intriguing site for a social experiment. The use of illustrations throughout is good and works well to keep a visitor reading! The simple colours are great but the layout isn\'t very clear and could benefit from some more tweaking!

A straightforward but effective site for The Queenstown Trail. The use of photography is excellent and really works to grab your attention. The clear typeface makes the site easily accessible while the trail sign adds a nice touch of character!

A clean and straightforward site for a multimedia designer. I like the use of a relatively common layout, it allows the visitor to immediately find their way. The typeface used for \'Steve Brown\' is wonderful and makes a great statement about his design philosophy!

Bento is personal database management in true Mac style. Filemaker really stepped up and addressed the complicated nature of their apps and made Bento both beautiful and simple to use. The sheer array of options for customisation is awesome!

A wed design site that makes a stunning, and immediate, impact! The central logo grabs your attention while the important content falls effectively into a relatively common layout. I particularly like the supreme attention to graphical detail.

The first thing that hits you when this site appears is the header, it\'s fantastic! The kooky custom typeface and the wood effect works really well and instantly intrigues the visitor. I also particularly like the border between the header and body of the site although the company\'s purpose could be made clearer...

A great looking post card site. The images have a delightful hand-drawn feel and really grab your attention. One design element that really appeals to me is the use of custom drawn Facebook and Twitter badges.

This beautiful site was recently featured in one of our design critiques. I love the layout, the bright colors and the attention to detail on the graphical elements. A great design!

This is a simple but effective blog design with a number of unique ides and nice design touches. The format of the blog stream is refreshingly different than the popular formats on the web today.

This site features some really superb illustrations, animated background objects and a mouse-powered parallax effect. It is a beautiful design from top to bottom and the developers really went all out on the eye candy.

A pretty typical layout but still attractive. The textured color bar at the top is nice and I like the glossy button treatments.

This site builds a selection of books for you instantly as you type in a query. The design is very much like that of the Apple iBooks interface with a nice wooden bookshelf that displays cover art, often with a Kindle peeking out from behind the book.

A nice looking corporate theme that plays it safe by using a very typical but also very functional layout. The thick color bar works well and highlights the jQuery slider perfectly.

This site uses a giant iPad to display the designer portfolio. To mimic the functionality of the real iPad, you click and swipe to advance to the next image; a clever idea!

Panoetic uses a textured backgrounds and lots of random but interesting artwork scattered around the page to achieve and almost scrapbook-ish look. The animating thumbnail hover effect is particularly fun to play with and kept me busy for a solid thirty seconds trying to activate all of them at once.
