No, actually it’s not that easy. You have to scroll down the page, complete the form and try to write something impressive so that you’ll get picked, even though the contest is totally random. So most of the comments are just one-liners that describe an imperative wish to get the book, while others just blurb out their résumés. So yea, it’s pretty hard.

By the way, why did you say “picking the winners” at the end there when there’s only one copy? :)

Jeffery’s A List Apart is one of the big reason I fell in love of web standards, css and ultimately, leading to the position where I am.

I’ve been a believer in standards for decades – they typically aid competition (by reducing lock-in and hopefully by fixing the price of entry) and make end-usage development easier.

I’m still learning so much about web development – I could really use this book to learn another aspect of “doing things right.”
